(New York, April 2010) Acoustiguide is pleased to announce it has been selected as the exclusive multimedia tour vendor for Casa Loma, the former home of Canadian financier Sir Henry Pellatt and one of Canada’s premier tourist attractions. Located in Toronto, Casa Loma is a Gothic Revival mansion complete with decorated suites, ahead-of-its time innovations, secret passages, towers, stables, and beautiful 5-acre estate gardens.
In June 2010, with the support of our Canadian representative AudioConexus, Acoustiguide will launch a 90-minute tour on its state-of-the-art handheld multimedia player, Opus. The tour is designed to optimize the visitor’s experience and provide an essential interpretive tool for the site with a program that combines interviews with curators and local historians and archival images of the Pellatts and life at the estate in its heyday. With a rich soundscape enhanced by period music and sound effects, the tour will bring to life Toronto at the turn of the last century.
In order to serve Casa Loma’s large number of international visitors, the multimedia tour will be available in eight languages. Acoustiguide will also be developing a 30-minute audio tour for the visually impaired and a 30-minute multimedia sign language tour for the hearing impaired. The tours will be included in the price of admission.
“The introduction of Acoustiguide’s state-of-the art Opus multimedia system, coupled with the firm’s depth of creative experience gained by interpreting the world’s leading cultural and heritage institutions, delivers the ultimate in tour technology and content to Casa Loma. It will help illuminate Casa Loma’s vision of reflecting the imagination, energy and innovation of Toronto at the beginning of the 20th century and is a marriage of medium and content that a visionary like Sir Henry Pellatt would have very much approved,” said Richard R. Wozenilek, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Casa Loma.

Casa Loma
Casa Loma is owned by the City of Toronto and has been operated by the Kiwanis Club of Casa Loma since 1937. In addition to being a major historic tourist attraction, it is a much sought after location for lavish parties, weddings, cultural events, corporate gatherings and film shoots.
Created with reverence for a bygone era, Casa Loma is the enduring legacy of Sir Henry Pellatt, a prominent Canadian financier, industrialist and military officer of the twentieth century. He built his dream home almost a century ago, capturing the best architectural elements of the Gothic, Norman and Romanesque styles. The exquisitely detailed plaster ceilings, rich wood carvings, dazzling marble and luminous stained glass are a testament to his taste for opulent appointments.
