It is with great pleasure that Acoustiguide announce that we have been awarded the contract for the prestigious Historic Royal Palaces (HRP) starting July 2011. We will be supplying nearly 2,000 Opus multimedia guides to the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Banqueting House. The latter two are free to visitors as part of the ticket price. Following a competitive tender process.

HRP selected Acoustiguide’s Opus Click™ at the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace, with Opus Touch™ at Banqueting House. It is thanks to the feedback from our existing clients on the quality of Acoustiguide equipment and operational support that gave HRP the incentive to upgrade to multimedia guides, which will improve the service and perceived value of the guides to visitors and give more options to the HRP interpretation team going into the future. The scope for development includes improved orientation and increased accessibility, as well as the inclusion of graphics, videos, slideshows and games.

Historic Royal Palaces look after five prestigious Palaces (Kensington Palace and Kew Palace do not currently offer audio guides) and are among the most visited tourist attractions in England with over 3,000,000 visitors passing through their doors in 2010. They are among the most recognised sites in the country and a huge draw to tourists from overseas, Londoners and the rest of the UK.

The new multimedia guides will include images as well as audio and will help visitors to discover for themselves the amazing sights and stories of these Historic Palaces. From Charles I’s execution at Banqueting House to the
Crown Jewels at the Tower of London and Henry VIII’s kitchen at Hampton Court, these Palaces are full of historic significance and Acoustiguide is very proud to play a part in bringing that history to life for visitors. We look forward to a continuing successful relationship with HRP.

We are delighted to announce we are partnering with Shakespeare’s Globe on London’s Bankside to produce a multimedia tour on Opus Click™ for their Globe Exhibition and Tour.

In June 2011 Acoustiguide will be installing 100 Opus Click™ players in Chelsea Football Club’s brand new museum. It has been fantastic to work with Chelsea FC on such an exciting project and seeing the museum taking shape first hand.
