Applications & Features on the Opus Series
As a leader in technology innovation for the multimedia and interpretation space, Espro Acoustiguide ensures that special applications and new features it develops dovetail with the advances it makes in creative content and handheld audio & multimedia delivery systems.
Our newest Opus series’ capabilities utilize advanced technologies to offer a host of new features that facilitate the creation of full, dynamic tours which, in turn, enrich visitors’ experience. These new features include customized user-interfaces, interactive games, specialized content, dedicated keys and much more.
Maps Orientation and Direction
Through the special Maps Application, visitors can use the Opus player to explore a metropolitan area, or an outdoor environment such as a botanical garden, just as easily as they would use it indoors. This opens up possibilities for tours in locations that are difficult to guide visitors through, and where placing labels and signs is not possible. The specially designed software application helps the visitor navigate around a city or any outdoor site, and offers means for wayfinding and accessibility to any point of interest.
Remote Activation
An advanced Auto-triggering feature offers the ability to remotely activate content without the visitor pressing any keys or touching the screen. This could be an audio ‘Welcome’ message at the entrance to a site, information about a specific item or a prompt alerting visitors they are entering a different section of an exhibition.
Some more details:
• Available via both RF (radio-frequency) and IR (infra-red).
• Can activate audio, video, map or any other combination of content items
• Messages are always activated in the same pre-selected language
• Small form-factor allows activator units to be safely installed anywhere around the site, and be easily hidden from sight
• Activation range is up to 30 meters, in 8 selectable levels.
Mobile Remote Activation
For sites where visitors are not allowed to wander on their own, the Mobile Remote activator allows tour guides to trigger messages on their group members’ Opus devices while walking along a tour path. The triggered messages are always in the language pre-selected by the visitor. This allows one tour guide to escort a large group of visitors who can enjoy the tour in their own language.
Special Key
The Opus keypad has two non-numeric keys. These can be customized according to each client’s unique needs. For example:
• Information Layering
Pressing the special key “*” provides additional information on the exhibit
• Dynamic Tour Selection
In this case, pressing the special key “*” displays the tour menu with all tours available in the pre-selected language.
Interactive Games and Puzzles
Both educational and fun, these applications are a great way to engage your visitors, especially the younger ones.
Some examples include
• Changing an exhibit by altering various details on the screen, such as size, color, background etc.
• Testing your visitors memory by asking them to find the detail that does, or does NOT, appear in the original painting
• Matching a detail from an exhibit that is shown on the screen with the exhibit it belongs to
• Creating music or ‘playing’ musical instruments that are shown on the screen
• Changing the exhibit’s surroundings by removing or adding details, selecting options to redesign the exhibit, changing the facial expressions of a person in a portrait (e.g., make him laugh, grin, scowl etc.)
More features:
• Interface with and control external systems with an Opus device. Examples include: turn a spotlight on an exhibit, start an audio-animatronics show, activate a water fountain, etc.)
• Utilize Mixed-media within one item (i.e., incorporate images, text, audio, video etc.)
• Customize the user interface according to your special requirements
• Condense menu items into one screen or split them among several ones
• Create on-screen visitor surveys
These and many other features we have created throughout the years were inspired by our client’s imaginative ideas. We have the experience and know-how necessary to help you create the visitor experience you envision. We would love to hear your ideas!
